Week 4- Facing History

 Hi Everyone,

This week I chose to explore Facing History. I thought it would be interesting to since last month was black history month and this month is women's history month. This web based application was very interesting. It is a place that teachers can go to to find resources and help with their lessons. Teachers have access to people that can help them in a pinch with sources or resources that can help teachers make lessons more effective for students to understand. Facing History also promotes respect and tolerance. This is extremely important especially during this time in our lives when racism seems to be getting worse. Educating our youths is one step in fighting racism that can be extremely impactful for the future of our country. Facing History provides teachers with support at anytime. With that flexibility teachers can have more time helping students that may need extra help instead of spending time looking up resources. I hope more schools implement Facing History in their schools. For me history was one of my hardest subjects to understand. It was all about memorizing dates. With Facing History teachers can spend more time teaching students about understand history and why these dates are so important. That's all I have to say this week. Can't wait to see what web based application I choose next week.
