Week 6- Mixerpiece

 Hi Everyone,


This week I have chosen to explore Mixerpiece. This application is a fun way for students to create works of art and learn about art history at the same time. It is a digital magnetic board where students move and combine shapes and items into their own works of art. This app takes parts from different masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa and students are able to combine different parts of that art with other masterpieces to create their own and also learn about each masterpiece and their significance during their time period. This app is very interactive for students and also allows students to share their final work of art. If students are having a hard time getting started they can simply just shake the device they are using and a random combination of elements will show and and students and use that as a template to start their creation. Overall I think this app is a fun way to see the creativity of students as well as teach them the importance of art in history.  Hi everyone, The application that I explored this week was Code Spark. My niece and nephew both started learning coding at a very young age and I see how those lessons have really opened their minds to so much more. Code Spark is an online application where students can learn simple coding. With fun animations students will be engaged and continue to want to learn more coding as they grow up. I think this is an important skill that students should be introduced to at a young age. Coding can help students with their problem-solving skills as well as their critical thinking skills. These are 2 very important skills that can be used by students in many aspects of their lives. Coding is a fun way for parents to help develop their child's math and literacy skills at an early age. I would definitely use this in my classes as a fun little "break" from classwork. This is a way to keep students brains stimulated without them knowing.
